The First DelPHE Workshop
Delphe organised its first workshop from the 4th – 9th of January 2010. The workshop was attended by staff Makerere University, University of Addis Ababa, and SIL International. The workshop was facilitated by professors Brian Street and Alan Rogers, who are leading researchers in the area of Social Literacy practices and ethnographic approaches to literacy. The workshop introduced the participants to concepts of ethnographic approaches to literacy. The participants were asked to think about how ethnographic approaches to literacy could be incorporated in the current courses taught at the different universities. A follow up meeting will be held in April 2010.
